Question: Is There a Standard Treatment For Autism?

Is There a Standard Treatment For Autism?

Answer: Because there is so much controversy over the cause of autism, there is no standard treatment. In fact, you may be offered different treatments depending upon who diagnosed your child. Most autistic children do receive at least some speech therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy. Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) is a common recommendation as well, since it is well-researched and highly structured.
