Individualized Educational Plans for Children with Autism

If you have a child with autism in the public schools, chances are you'll be creating an Individualized Education Plan, otherwise known as an IEP. The IEP, a legal document, is the cornerstone of your child's experience at school, so it's important to know what you want -- and to know how to get it. The Department of Education has created a clear, readable Introduction to the Individualized Education Plan. This is a good starting place for parents who are just getting started in the process, and a great way for parents with experience to get a better handle on their rights.
