The folks at Manchester Airport in the UK were really thinking when they created a
downloadable pdf brochure to prepare kids with autism for their airport experience. Not only is the brochure a terrific
social story, complete with checklists, photos and descriptions of just what to expect - but it's also a very nice ad for airport, its vendors, and its restaurants.
Of course, most parents in the US and Canada are unlikely to be flying in or out of Manchester. And some of the language of the brochure ("trollies with suitcases on") is very specifically and culturally British. But even if you're going nowhere near the UK, this brochure is a great template for parents preparing their autistic kids for flight.

Looks like a great resource. Lots of pictures and information–28 pages. Funny I should come across this as I just posted a blog article on traveling with kids with autism at http://mamabusypants.blogspot.com/2009/04/mr.html
Must be a timely issues.
I am preparing to fly for the first time with my son with autism. I love this brochure and will make one similar for my son
This is a great resource. I am so glad I found it. I would hope that more airports would join and put out their own brochure. Or allow it to be customized online to the airports visited.
