Testing Adults for Asperger Syndrome: Here's How It's Done!

Friday May 4, 2007
If you're concerned that you or another adult in your life may have Asperger syndrome, you've probably wondered how you'd find out. I wondered too - and to find the answers I interviewed Dr. Shana Nichols, a pyschologist at Long Island's Fay J. Lindner Center for Autism who specializes in testing, diagnosing and treating teens and adults with Asperger syndrome.

This new article, How Do Experts Diagnose Adults with Aspergers?, explains exactly how an experienced diagnostician would go about testing for Asperger syndrome. It also looks at the ways in which disorders such as social anxiety might be mistaken for AS.

Have you or someone you love wondered about AS? Or have you been recently diagnosed? Share your experiences and suggestions here!
