Tips for Coping with Guilt

Should I attend that autism seminar or have dinner with my husband? Shouldn't I be looking into that new therapy? Does my child have enough speech therapy, occupational therapy, sensory integration....? Is it ok to buy that sweater (my child could really use another sensory toy!)?

If your child has been diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, chances are you're coping with some level of guilt. Here are just a few tips for putting those guilty feelings into perspective -- and giving yourself a little credit for the hard work you do!

You are right about needing to have some life outside autism without feeling guilty.
